A six arm chandelier based on a design from Brownrigg Interiors which I chose due to it's complex nature.
The model was created as part of a "Intro to 3D" unit at university in 2016. During this unit I worked on several pieces which were all "baroque" inspired for use within a larger room for a second semester project.
I chose this model as it allowed me to focus on several key areas such as modular modelling workflows, complex and dense meshes and rendering refraction.
During the creation of the piece I made use of splines to help create paths which I then sweeped to create geometry as well as pairing them with arrays to place objects along these paths such as the crystals. I also made use of modular design whereby I only modelled one of the arms and a quarter of the piece and then used symmetry to duplicate it thereby creating the final product. It was created within 3DS Max.
